 layer copy and paste error
hi
sorry if this bug is already fixed in the very last version.
I am using led bars to decorate an aluminum structure but led parcans to decorate the columns. I use the mapping feature letting the last horizontal line at the bottom to control the columns.
I use bank A for the bars and bank B for the columns and by this way with the cross-fade in the middle and the WF type I have both effects at the same time.
But the owner also wants some cue list running so I copied the layer from a button in bank B (columns) to a new empty layer in a button in bank A and the result is that this button does not show its proper function/effect anymore, but if I restart the software the button is ok, so the paste was correct in the first place but not shown.
I hope I explain it correctly. I have not the setup with me now but I can send it to you if I go back to the club.
Cheers from Malle

Re: layer copy and paste error
Hi ManMartin,
Thank you for reporting this!
1) Could you please send us the setup? 2) Which MADRIX version are you using?
Here is another tip:
You don't have use bank A for the bars and bank B for the columns + Cross-fade.
You can easily use 2 "layers" for each effect. Then, "map" layer one to the bars and map layer 2 to the columns. There is a lot of information in the user manual about "Layers" and "Map, Tile, and Rotation" in the chapter "Using The Software".
Thank you!

Re: layer copy and paste error
Hi
Thanks for the response.
The solution of dividing the bank A and B is cause the owner want to select different combinations of bars and parcans in real time. So I did it that way for him to try combinations and decide what he wants. Note that buttons in bank A are mapped and buttons in bank B are also mapped. Both to its corresponding light fixtures.
But also he wants to start the cue list and let Madrix to run alone. In this case I already used the layers in the way you explain in some buttons of bank A.
That is, I select a led bars button in bank A that I like, then I copy the button into another button in bank A. Then I create an empty layer in this button (to paste over it a parcan effect).
Then I select a parcan button that I like in bank B. Then I copy the layer of this button in bank B and I paste the layer over the new created empty layer in the bank A.
As a result, I have a button in bank A with 2 layers already mapped and ready to go.
The thing is that this button now shows nothing in the previews, even it seems to get the correct data.
The only way to fix this situation is to restore the software. Then the same button with two mapped layers shows the correct data.
I hope you get it now. I am Spanish and it is hard to me to explain it.
I will try to get the setup this week and send it to you if you want to take a look.
The version of Madrix I think is the one before this last version but can be the very last one, not sure.
Cheers.

Re: layer copy and paste error
Hi,
Could you please download MADRIX 2.12 again and try this version?
We have fixed something, but from your explanations we are not sure if it is a fix for the problem you describe.
Thank you!
