Create 3D Patch set max pixels for a Universe!

Hi,

We are very pleased with the 3D features in Madrix. Unfortunately to set up a patch is quite time consuming, which could be decreased by a 'simple' extra feature.
Most 3D setups are build-up with the 8,16 or 32 pixel tubes. So the maximum amount of pixels is normally 160 per universe. To add these fixtures in the patch we can only set this for each universe. To set an amount of pixels in the z-ax wont work, because in the hardware setup it is a new universe after 160 pixels. If we reach 170 pixels in that universe and add more then 170, it counts further to the next universe automatically. Only in a setup like that we could make advantage of the z-ax in the Matrix generator. Could you please add a function like 'max universe pixels'?
Kind regards,

Hello spacecremers,
.
Thank you for this input.
We will discuss it with the developers.

It is very simple to accomplish this in Fixture Editor.

Simply create a custom fixture that has a maximum DMX address of 160.

I do this all of the time when my power supplies can only hold a maximum number of nodes.

As liteknight says I create a custom profile for every venue and set the max address to the most I can run on a string.
