What formats of 3D moving objects best for 3D presentations?

Post by ChrisCotton »

I've got Whales on my mind

Gonna play moving underwater whales. Renderworks files? Help Please

Creating a 60' square ceiling display of hanging strings 6" apart that'll also be thirty feet of downward Z pixels. Fairly dense from 20' I hope

Thanks

Hi ChrisCotton,

You could create a sliced video as content (one slice for each z pane). Many video editing programs offer such an option.

I sure could use a bit more info in preparing moving 3D images in the Z plane. I need to know how to articulate what I need for perhaps finding talent to prepare them. When I ask for sliced images, it's not for Z coordinates.
Really want to make this happen and more help would be appreciated

Much Thanks

Hello ChrisCotton,

In the attached image you can see an example how a 3D video/moving image content needs to be prepared and loaded in MADRIX. In this example every Z-Layer was added side by side and thus a large 2D image/video was created. It is important that a slice has the correct size. That means the X and Y resolution needs to be exactly the one of the used patch in MADRIX.

Once you load this video you have to click the "SL" button in the "SCE Video" effect and setup how many slices and how they are created.

After the settings are applied MADRIX will move the content of the 2D "sliced" video into the next layers. The turning point of the layer will be pixel exact after the size of the patch.
